Services Available Through DRIVEN
All services provided through DRIVEN are free of charge with childcare available. Women experiencing abuse, or any type of gender- based violence, can get help.
DRIVEN is open for coordination services Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, with Monday's as our designated 'Clinic' days. All support is currently provided virtually (by phone or video) according to Covid-19 safety protocols.

Quarterly hygiene bag for those in financial need
Documentation of injuries to keep as a record of your abuse
Access to clothing vouchers
Access to language interpreters
Referrals to other community agencies
Connections/Referrals via DRIVEN (Monday to Friday):

Legal Aid Ontario certificates and summary legal advice (if eligible)
Legal support for criminal law
Culturally specific services
Settlement Services for newcomers to Canada
Advice and support from the Durham Children's Aid Society
Police support
Financial assistance to address immediate safety concerns (if eligible)
Emotional and practical support for victims
Young Parent Support Services (age 26 and under)
Employment Support
Monthly food box for those in financial need
Emergency clothing (new and gently used) for those in financial need
Specialized addictions counselling
Outreach Services for students of Durham College/UOIT
Supports for women living with and affected by HIV/AIDS
HIV, sexual health, and drug use information and support
Referrals to other community agencies
Video Chat Connection:
Women can connect to DRIVEN over video chat through our partnerships with the Brock Community Health Centre (North Durham), New Life Neighbourhood Centre (Oshawa), North House (Uxbridge), or the Welcome Centre (Ajax & Pickering). These collaborations integrate technology to bridge the distance, giving women access to the DRIVEN supports via video chat.
Help With Transportation Costs:
Support for transportation costs may be available. Eligible women can receive taxi chits for travelling to and from DRIVEN as well as from DRIVEN to another partner agency providing related support. Contact DRIVEN for more information and to determine if you qualify.
